Explore Mixed Media & Image Transfer
Are you a Painter at heart but want to enhance your work beyond the traditional painting process? This demonstration is a quick look at what is available to push your creative work to a new level with mixed media and image transfer.
About the Presenter
Carolyn is a former full-time Photography & Graphic Design Instructor at Fresno City College.
Materials that will be provided to help you experiment:
1. A Variety of Small Pre-Printed Stock Color Image Transfers
2. A Variety of Small Pre-Printed Stock Black & White Image Transfers
3. Transfer solution
Hands-on Activity if you want to participate
We will be doing one image transfer to paper so you can experience the serendipity of doing an emulsion image transfer.
Then we will do an image transfer to your acrylic or watercolor painted background to experience the combination of mixed media and spark some new ideas.
Love of Photography and Alternative creative processes is what drove the development of the work that will be demonstrated today. The processes are many and diverse, so this will be a quick bite-sized presentation of the many creative avenues available once the paint has dried and the shutter has been clicked.
Materials needed to bring if you wish to experiment:
1. 1 piece of smooth art paper, approx 5×7 inches in size, Blank
2. 2 or 3 assorted small (approx 5×7 inch) painted papers with light color tone acrylics or watercolor. This will be a background to add an image or embellishment. Again, a smooth mixed-media type of paper is preferred.
3. Alcohol based hand sanitizer, 70% alcohol or higher, travel size.
4. 1-inch foam brush
5. Old credit card for smoothing
6. Scissors
