The Ahwahnee Hills Regional Park is a 400-acre nature park in the community of Ahwahnee on Highway 49 in Madera County. It serves as a natural oak habitat resource for recreation and education for Madera County and the surrounding counties. It features a Veterans Memorial, an old red barn, a seasonal pond that is home to turtles and birds, and a 2.7 mile walking trail. There are picnic tables and bathrooms at the trailhead. Bring a lunch to eat with the group at 12:30, if you can!
Please note that it’s a short downhill walk on a dirt trail to the barn, and a longer walk to the pond and other out-buildings. Wear sturdy shoes!
