Greetings from your new Portrait Group coordinator, Lura Schwarz Smith! Many thanks to Vicki Thomas for her seven years of service! It’s been a challenging year for this group, losing the Gertrude as our meeting place, as well as the Covid lockdowns. But we have a solution!
We are currently using a hybrid system for Portrait days – both an in-person live model, and continuing the Zoom sessions on your computer, tablet or iPad from your own home. My husband Kerby Smith is my co-coordinator for Portrait Group, as he runs the Zoom sessions. If you are unfamiliar with Zoom but would like to try, contact Kerby at ysavpcom@gmail.com.
The live model location is Jeanne Moje MacDonald’s beautiful art studio in the Bootjack/Mariposa area. Because it is a small space physical attendance is limited to three artists, plus Jeanne and myself. The three spots for live artists to attend will be first-come basis on the website. Attendees, including the model, must be fully vaccinated. The sessions will be the same format: 20 minutes on for the model, a ten-minute break, and then our model will resume the pose.

You will need to register and pay online: $10 (members) and $13 (non-members). This reasonable charge pays our models their $60 fee. There is a NEW LINK to the Zoom sessions.
