Karen Tillison

Artist Bio I am a landscape and travel photographer. For many years, I photographed in and around the Sierra Nevada mountains in California, where I lived at the time, and then, I started traveling overseas.
My first international trips were in 2001, first to Africa on a safari, and then to Egypt, and a whole new world of photography opened up. At this time, landscape photography took a backseat and I turned to photographing the people and their cultures that I met and interacted with on all seven continents. I want you to be able to look at my images of the children on the streets of Moracco, or the old man in the boat in Vietnam, and imagine being there.
My work has been featured in numerous Shadow & Light Magazine publications. In 2022, I was awarded the cover of Shadow and Light Magazine along with the featured artist’s portfolio for the Language of the Land Special Issue.
