Sandra Lee Scott
Biographical Info I have been highly interested in the arts since the age of sixteen and have the equivalent of a college minor in art. I pursued my interest in painting and mixed media on a limited basis for many years while working in the mental health field and was a serious amateur photographer for several decades. I have been unleashing my creativity full on for the past thirteen years. I am a long-time member of Yosemite Sierra Artists; I participate in its Plein Air and Photography groups. My photography and artwork have received recognition and won awards in local exhibits and I have been a participating artist in Sierra Art Trails since 2014. Additionally, several mixed media pieces of mine have been accepted in the renown Yosemite Renaissance exhibit. I am passionate about pastel, enjoy mixed media projects, and love experimenting with acrylics, alcohol inks, and photography. My latest love is painting with cold wax and oil, using squeegees, brayers and palette knives. Adventurous, Eclectic, Innovative These three words describe my approach to art, and to life. My philosophy is Why limit oneself! My work can often be seen at United Security Bank in Oakhurst and intermittently at the Visitor Center in Oakhurst and the Circle Gallery in Madera, California. In addition to my art, I am the author of two books — Bloomin' Boomers and the novel Reflections of Evil.
