Veronica Gross
Biographical Info Veronica Rowney Gross creates imagery primarily with transparent watercolor. She extends her artistic expression with other media including printmaking. Her education includes a Bachelor degree in Fine Arts from California State University, Hayward and earned her secondary teaching credential. She furthered her artistic studies at the Leo Marchutz School/Institute for American University, Aix-en-Provence, France. She has taken several workshops with notable painters throughout the years. Veronica was employed by the East Side Union High School District of San Jose as an art instructor and district visual arts coordinator for thirty years. Now retired, Veronica devotes more of her time to watercolor painting, preferring the plein aire approach. She finds much inspiration in Mariposa where she now resides. Veronica shows her work at the Gallery 24 in Los Gatos and at the Sierra Artists Gallery in Mariposa. She has been juried in several local, national and international exhibitions. She won first place in the 47th Watercolor West International Juried Exhibition 2015 and is now a Signature Member of Watercolor West and the California Watercolor Association. She participated in the Los Gatos Plein Air Competition in June, 2017 and 2019.
