Requirements

Visions of Self can include self-portraits, work depicting your environment, your emotions, or state of being. Work must be your own, and each artist will have the opportunity to add a Vision Statement that will be displayed along with your piece. This is an online show, however works in all media accepted, including video. While digital art is accepted, works deemed to be primarily AI-generated are not allowed and will be disqualified.

Best of Show: $200 + Ribbon
1st Place: $100 + Ribbon
2nd Place: $50 + Ribbon
3rd Place: $25 + Ribbon
Honorable Mentions: Ribbon

Fees

$15 YSA members, $20 non-members for first entry. $5 each additional entry. YSA members. YSA DISCOUNT CODE will be sent to members, but if you don’t have it contact jennifer@yosemitesierraartists.org.

Judges

Alison Bailey is an artist and art educator who has taught at the Eastern Idaho Art Museum, Yoga Co-Op Art & Movement, IAEA conferences, as well as providing ovide individual instruction. She has received numerous awards including Voices of Change, MLK I Have A Dream IFEA, Teacher who Respects All Teachers and Students, Most inspiring motivator, Most creative teacher, Most likely to create world peace, Building Bridges, Community Partnerships of Idaho:supports to improving the lives of children, teen, and adults with developmental disabilities and mental illness, Voices of Change:Suicide Prevention, Breaking Boundaries- unfailing advocacy & support of the Idaho Falls community, actively & openingly celebrating diversity, 2022 High School Art  Idaho Art Educator of the Year, 2022-2023 Idaho Art Educator of the Year, and the 2023 The Art Museum Of Eastern Idaho Volunteer of the Year.     

Barbara Liss is the Gallery Manager and Past President of Yosemite Sierra Artists, a local, nonprofit organization to support arts in the Yosemite communities. She has won several local awards and belongs to a women’s painting group which had its first exhibition titled “Transitions” in 2023. Barbara now serves as community liaison to match local venues with artists to showcase their work. Prior to retirement, she was a Business and Professions Code 6450 compliant paralegal for almost 50 years, and a registered and bonded Legal Document Assistant (B&P Code 6400) for eight years and taught Paralegal Studies classes (Intro to Paralegalism, Civil Litigation and Legal Research) at UCSB and other accredited programs.

January 31, 2025 Midnight – Deadline for Submissions.
February 7, 2025Accepted pieces posted on this site.
Feb 22-23, 2025 – Accepted pieces can be dropped off for local exhibition at Gallery at Oakhurst Spirits. 12 Noon – 2pm
March 1, 2025 – Show debuts online at MettaGallery.com with prize winners posted. Local show opens at Gallery at Oakhurst Spirits
March 1, 2025 – Reception for Local Show at Gallery at Oakhurst Spirits, 3pm – 5pm
April 5-6 – Art Pickup from local show at Gallery at Oakhurst Spirits 12 Noon – 2pm
