Cynthia Bernd

Artist Bio I have returned to my roots in painting and other art mediums about 6 years ago. My love for painting took a long break while pursuing a career in nursing and raising children. Throughout the years I have admired, and have been inspired, by various artist works. One day I was at my good friend’s art studio; Anne Whitehurst, who encouraged me to start painting again. From there I just decided to pursue my art. I have been loving the time in my own home studio, turning out acrylics, oils for the most part but also a few pastels and watercolors. I also want to shout out to my partner of 40 years, Stephen Bernd who is a guitarist and song writer. His love of the arts and his encouragement has brought out the best in me, along with my children and friends who have supported my art. My life is full with my nursing career, which is slowing down finally and allowing me to promote my Husbands band and music and creating my art.
I love to paint animals and landscapes mostly. I feel living here in California and in Fresno, I have access to so much valley, hills and mountain beauty to choose from.
I have sold a few paintings but mostly I love to show my art and share with family and friends. I have shown art work at ( formally) Sorenson's Art Gallery. Arts Alive in Agriculture, Fresno City Hall, Big Fresno Fair and Wine Tails in Oakhurst. I hope to continue to display my art and create more pieces, and I am currently learning how to work with texture, and beaded jewels.
