Erin Alstrom Cook
Artist Bio Erin Alstrom Cook is a fluid artist in Fresno, California. Each abstract piece is singularly unique and expressive. They "speak" to the viewer and create a connection in both the smaller details and the larger scope of the piece. Each painting is "thrown" or "poured," using acrylic paint, mixed by the artist to the desired viscosity. The artist’s surface for the paintings are gallery depth Birch wooden panels, which are both durable and light weight for easy display. Though created with intent and purpose, the pieces take on a more organic quality dictated by the fluidity of the paint. Once thoroughly dried, the paintings receive a lustrous finish of gloss varnish, or resin, for a professional and lasting piece of art. Erin is also a published fiction writer and a singer in a band. Because of these creative interests, her art pieces are both inspired by, and dedicated to, musicians and writers that she admires. She is also greatly inspired by, and drawn to, natural environments she has visited or photographed.
