Lisa Zylstra

Artist Bio Artist Lisa Zylstra grew up along the Southern California coast, where she cultivated a deep appreciation for the ocean and coastal foothills. Her passion for hiking and backpacking in the Sierra Nevada eventually inspired Lisa and her husband to relocate to the Sierra foothills near Yosemite National Park in 2020.
Lisa is a passionate oil painter dedicated to capturing California’s diverse landscapes. Her work beautifully reflects the state’s natural beauty and has earned numerous awards in exhibitions, plein air festivals, and paint-outs.
She has honed her craft under the guidance of master artists such as Kathleen Dunphy and Matt Smith. An active member of Yosemite Sierra Artists and the California Art Club, Lisa also co-chairs the YSA plein air group, fostering a community of outdoor painters.
Lisa’s paintings are showcased in several esteemed galleries, including the Yosemite Gateway Art Center in Oakhurst, CA, the Sierra Artists Gallery in Mariposa, CA, the YSA Gallery, and the Casto Oaks Winery and Gallery in Mariposa, CA.
