Where: Plein Air Outing to Yosemite History Center (Pioneer Village) in Wawona
4100 Forest Dr. Wawona, CA. Please note this is inside the park and you will need to purchase a pass or ride with someone who has a pass. The standard fee to enter is $35 but there are annual passes and a deal for seniors that save you money.
When: September 11, 9:30 – 12:30
What: Join us to paint, draw, photograph the Pioneer Village in the Yosemite History Center, just past the historic Wawona Hotel in Yosemite National Park. You’ll see historic log cabins, a stone jail, a covered bridge over the river, tall trees, and much more! You may also walk over to the Wawona Hotel grounds.
Park at the far end of the Wawona Store Pioneer Gift Shop parking lot (you’ll see a gas station and parking lot on your right as you travel in on Hwy 41) Bathrooms are located in the parking lot and there are picnic tables for us to use at 12:30. Bring your lunch, or food is available at the gift shop/market just behind the gas station.
The dirt trail into the village is fairly level, but bumpy.
Car pooling is recommended, not required, but must be arranged by each individual. We suggest carpoolers meet at Big 5 about 8:30 am.
Check the weather before leaving; it may be much cooler (or not) in YNP
