YSA Showcase – Scarab Arts Center

This is a showcase exhibition for Yosemite Sierra Artists at one of Fresno’s prominent galleries. Because of limited space the event will be juried but it will not be judged. This is NOT a competition. There will be no awards. The small entry fee is simply to cover costs and marketing promotion. You may submit up to five artworks for consideration. Depending on submissions and space an artist may have more than one artwork selected for the exhibition.

We are looking to present Fresno with the best work from our artists. There are no restrictions on when the work was made or exhibited in previous YSA competitions.

ART SUBMISSION
All art to be submitted on SmarterEntry.com/CallsforEntry/YSA by October 17, 2026, at 11:59 PM (PDT).

ENTRY FEES
$10, 1st entry and $5 each additional artwork. You must be a YSA member to enter.

EXHIBIT RULES

  1. This exhibition is all media including but not limited to painting, photography, and sculpture. Entries must be original artwork, copies of original such as giclee prints of paintings are not accepted. The exception to this is original artwork that is traditionally created as prints such as photography, woodcuts, digital mixed media, lithographs etc. are permitted. Artwork must be 100% the creation of the artist. Digital prints that are wholly generated by AI are not the original creation of the artist. Those works cannot be copyrighted and will not be accepted.
  2. This is an open exhibition for YSA members to showcase their talent in a beautiful venue in Fresno. Because of limited space in the Scarab Gallery this will be a juried exhibition.
  3. YSA artists will receive notification of works accepted by email by October 21, 2026. Please make sure that emails from YSA are accepted by your email provider.
  4. Entry into the competition and exhibit means the artist will abide by the rules and any exhibition of their work is at their own risk. Work deemed offensive to any race, creed, or gender will not be accepted.
  5. All two-dimensional artwork must be strung with wire for hanging in the upper third of the frame. No saw tooth hangers. Sculpture/3-D entries may include podium or other display case or stand. Fiber works must be hangable. All frames must be in good condition.
  6. Maximum overall size is limited to 36×48. The Minimum size including frame is 8×10 inches. Any art piece larger or smaller may or may not be selected based on the discretion of the Exhibit Committee.
  7. Your artwork must be delivered and picked up in person. You may designate a relative or friend to do it for you with a written note. Artwork must be properly identified with a completed entry form attached to it.
  8. Special arrangements may be made to carpool artwork from Oakhurst to Fresno. This will be dependent on volunteers. If transportation is available, you will be notified of the details in plenty of time to get your artwork to the drop-off site.
  9. No work may be removed during the exhibit without permission of the Exhibit Committee.
  10. There may be opportunities for YSA members to conduct and participate in a workshop, Black Friday event and artist’s panel during the exhibition at Scarab. Details of these opportunities will be posted on the YosemiteSierraArtists.org website.

SALES
Since this is a unique opportunity to present your work in Fresno it is recommended that your work be for sale, but it is not a requirement. All sales will be made by Scarab Creative Arts, Inc. for which they will receive a 30% commission. Commission will be deducted from payment to the artist. Scarab will be responsible for collecting sales tax.

LIABILITY AT IN-PERSON PHYSICAL VENUE
All physical entries will be handled with the utmost care, but Yosemite Sierra Artists and Scarab Creative Arts, Inc. and their staff and/or volunteers will not be responsible for any loss or damage to any entry from any cause whatsoever, including transportation, fire, storage, showing, or theft.

INTAKE of ART
Please deliver your artwork to Scarab Creative Arts, Saturday, October 31, 2026, 9 AM – 12 PM at 729 E. Divisadero St., Fresno, CA 93721. Remember to attach a completed entry form to your artwork along with the Scarab Artist Contract. Both documents will be provided with the acceptance email.

PICKUP of Unsold ART at the END of EXHIBIT
Saturday, November 28, 2026, 3-6 PM at Scarab Creative Arts, Inc. – 729 E. Divisadero St., Fresno, CA 93721 There is no storage at the venue. Neither the YSA Exhibit Committee nor Scarab Creative Arts, Inc. are responsible for artwork not picked up. You may authorize a relative or friend to deliver/pick up your artwork for you with a signed note. If carpooling is arranged for transporting of artwork you will be notified of the return details.
