Doug Boomer
Biographical Info I have been painting for about 25 years, taking many classes and workshops from professional artists such as Carlene Kostiw and Jerome Grimmer. I paint mainly in watercolors and acrylic. My inspiration comes from many subjects including the western history of our nation and the landscapes of the Sierra mountains. I started out painting as photo realistic as possible but have realized that it is not just the technical accuracy that makes a great painting. A painting should go deeper than just copying. My goal is to convey an emotional response and interpret the spirit of the subject through color, value, light and brush strokes. To me art is a journey not a destination. It is a journey that I am enjoying.
