The dance between realism and abstraction in figurative art is exciting to me. I love to explore this territory, sometimes leaning toward imaginary realism, sometimes to a more abstract treatment which is strongly rooted in recognizable imagery. I am interested in a flow of movement and rhythm created by repetitive line, form, and fractured surfaces.
I currently work primarily in oils, pastels and charcoal. I have a BA in Art from San Francisco State University, and have been showing work in galleries in various media since 1975. For more information, visit my website at www.lura-art.com.
