Artist Info
Adventurous, Eclectic, Innovative --
These three words describe Sandra Lee’s (Sandee's) approach to art. She expresses her passion for creativity through pastel painting, mixed media projects, photography, alcohol ink, cold wax and oil, and acrylic paintings.
As a longtime member (and former board member) of Yosemite Western Artists (YWA), she has participated in YWA’s Photography group, Digital Art Group, and Plein Air outings. She's been delighted to have received recognition and awards in shows sponsored by the Alliance of California Artists (ACA), YWA, the Madera County Arts Council, Sierra Artists Gallery in Mariposa, and the Clovis Art Guild. Her mixed media works were accepted into the 2019 and 2020 Yosemite Renaissance Exhibits.
Her home overlooks the Fresno River in the Sierra foothills and she considers Yosemite National Park her “backyard.” She says, "Landscapes will always appeal to me but I also like to be challenged with subject matter that is somewhat unexpected, such as tractors and galaxies!” With her mixed media pieces, she relishes creating works with a meaningful message and pieces that are strictly abstract, with no meaning at all.
Her work can be seen often at United Security Bank in Oakhurst and Circle Gallery in Madera, California.
In addition to her art, Sandee is the author of two books — Bloomin' Boomers and the novel Reflections of Evil.
